Circuit/System Verification



1. Observe the DTC information with a scan tool. DTC P0090, P0091, P0092, P00C8, P00C9, P00CA, P0685, or P1682 should not set.



瀚慖f a DTC is set, refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List - Vehicle (See: Diagnostic Trouble Code Descriptions/Diagnostic Trouble



Code (DTC) List - Vehicle).



2. Ignition ON, command the Fuel Pressure Regulator ON and OFF with a scan tool while observing the following control circuit status



parameters:



* Fuel Pressure Regulator Control Circuit High Voltage Test Status



* Fuel Pressure Regulator Control Circuit Open Test Status



* Fuel Pressure Regulator Control Circuit Low Voltage Test Status



* Fuel Pressure Regulator High Control Circuit High Voltage Test Status



* Fuel Pressure Regulator High Control Circuit Open Test Status



* Fuel Pressure Regulator High Control Circuit Low Voltage Test Status



Each parameter should toggle between OK and Not Run or Not Run and OK.



3. Engine idling, observe the Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor parameter with a scan tool. The pressure should be approximately 1.9-2.1 MPa (279-305



psi).



4. Command an increase and decrease in fuel rail pressure with a scan tool. Observe the scan tool Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor parameter. The



Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor should increase or decrease with each command.



5. Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC to verify the DTC does not reset. You may also operate the vehicle within the



conditions that you observed from the Freeze Frame/Failure Records data.



Circuit/System Testing



1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the G18 high pressure fuel pump.



2. Ignition OFF, verify that a test lamp does not illuminate between B+ and the low control circuit terminal 1.



瀚慖f the test lamp illuminates, test the low control circuit for a short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K20 ECM.



3. Ignition ON, verify that a test lamp does not illuminate between ground and the high control circuit terminal 2.



瀚慖f the test lamp illuminates, test the high control circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K20 ECM.



4. Ignition ON, command the Fuel Pressure Regulator ON with a scan tool. Verify that the test lamp illuminates.



瀚慖f the test lamp does not illuminate, test the high control circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal,



replace the K20 ECM.



5. Ignition OFF, connect a test lamp between the low control circuit terminal 1 and B+.



6. Ignition ON, command the Fuel Pressure Regulator ON with a scan tool. Verify that the test lamp illuminates.

Circuit/System Verification



1. Perform the Range Selector Lever Cable Adjustment (See: Transmission and Drivetrain/Automatic Transmission/Transaxle/Shift



Linkage/Shift Cable/Adjustments) procedure to verify proper adjustment.



2. Ignition ON, engine OFF, observe the scan tool IMS A/B/C/P parameter while moving the gear shift lever from Park, to Reverse and through



all the ranges. The parameter should match each gear range that is selected. Refer to Transmission Internal Mode Switch Logic (See:



Specifications/Mechanical Specifications/Automatic Transmission/Transaxle/System Specifications/6T70/6T75 - Automatic



Transmission/Transmission Internal Mode Switch Logic).



3. Observe the scan tool engine control module (ECM) PNP Switch parameter while moving the gear shift lever from Park, to Reverse and



through all the ranges. The parameter should display Park/Neutral in the Park and Neutral positions, and In Gear in all other positions.



4. Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC to verify the DTC does not reset. You may also operate the vehicle within the



conditions that you observed from the Freeze Frame/Failure Records data.



Circuit/System Testing



Note: You must perform Circuit/System Verification first.



Note: Under certain driving conditions, DTC P182E could set due to an intermittent low voltage fault on the park/neutral signal circuit,



before conditions for setting DTC P0851 are met.



1. Ignition OFF, remove the control valve body cover. Refer to Control Valve Body Cover Replacement (See: Transmission and



Drivetrain/Automatic Transmission/Transaxle/Valve Body/Service and Repair/6T70/6T75 - Automatic Transmission/Control Valve Body



Cover Replacement).



2. Connect the TCM harness connector.



3. Disconnect the IMS connector X2 at the control solenoid valve assembly.



4. Ignition ON, verify the scan tool IMS A/B/C/P parameter displays HI for all 4 signal circuits.



瀚慖f not the specified value, replace the control solenoid valve assembly. Refer to Control Solenoid Valve and Transmission Control



Module Assembly Replacement (See: Powertrain Management/Transmission Control Systems/Actuators and Solenoids - Transmission



and Drivetrain/Actuators and Solenoids - A/T/Shift Solenoid/Service and Repair).



5. Verify the scan tool ECM PNP Switch parameter displays In Gear.



瀚慖f not the specified value, test the park/neutral signal circuit for a short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, replace the engine control



module.



6. Connect a 3-amp fused jumper wire between each transmission range signal circuit terminal listed below and the IMS ground circuit,



terminal A on the TCM assembly. The corresponding scan tool IMS A/B/C/P parameter should display LOW when the terminal is connected



to the IMS ground.

Circuit/System Verification



1. Verify that DTC B0967 02 is not present.



瀚慖f DTC is present, refer to Parking Assist Switch Malfunction.



2. Verify that B0968 01 or B0968 06 is not present.



瀚慖f DTC is present, refer to Parking Assist Switch Indicator Malfunction.



3. Activate and deactivate the parking assist switch and verify the scan tool Park Assist Switch parameter changes between Active and Inactive.



Circuit/System Testing



Parking Assist Switch Circuit Malfunction



1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the S48E multi-function switch module - center console.



2. Test for less than 10 ohm between the ground circuit terminal 2 and ground.



瀚慖f greater than the specified value, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance.



3. Connect the harness connector at the S48E multi-function switch module - center console.



4. Disconnect the X1 harness connector at the K41 parking assist control module.



5. Ignition ON, test for less than 0.3 V between the signal circuit terminal 8 X1 and ground.



瀚慖f greater than the specified value, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage.



6. Ignition ON, verify that a test lamp does not illuminate between the B+ circuit terminal 1 X1 and signal circuit terminal 8 X1.



瀚慖f the test lamp illuminates, test signal circuit for a short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, replace the S48E multi-function switch



module - center console.



7. Verify that the test lamp illuminates between the B+ circuit terminal 1 X1 and signal circuit terminal 8 X1 while pressing the parking assist



switch.



瀚慖f the test lamp does not illuminate, test the signal circuit for an open/high resistance. If all circuits test normal, replace the S48E



multi-function switch module - center console.



8. If all circuits test normal, replace the K41 parking assist control module.



Parking Assist Switch Indicator Circuit Malfunction



1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the S48E multi-function switch module - center console.



2. Ignition ON, test for B+ between the ignition circuit terminal 3 and ground.



瀚慖f less than the specified value, test the ignition circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance.



3. Command the Park Assist Switch LED output control ON with the scan tool. Test for B+ between the ignition circuit terminal 3 and the



signal circuit terminal 6.



瀚慖f less than the specified value, test the signal circuit for an open/high resistance. If all circuits test normal, replace the K41 parking assist

Circuit/System Testing



1. Ignition ON, verify that DTC C0800 is not present.

2. Verify that DTC C0186 5A, C0196 00, C0196 5A, C019B 5A, C0287 4B, and C0287 5A is not present.



瀚慖f any listed DTC is present, perform the Multi-Axis Acceleration Sensor Module Programming and Setup (See: Brakes and Traction



Control/Antilock Brakes / Traction Control Systems/Yaw Rate Sensor/Testing and Inspection/Multi-Axis Acceleration Sensor Module



Programming and Setup) and the Vehicle Yaw Sensor Learn (See: Brakes and Traction Control/Antilock Brakes / Traction Control

3. Inspect the B119 Multi-axis Acceleration Sensor for correct installation.



瀚慖f loose or incorrect installation is diagnosed, correct the installation of the component and perform the Vehicle Yaw Sensor Learn (See:



Brakes and Traction Control/Antilock Brakes / Traction Control Systems/Yaw Rate Sensor/Testing and Inspection/Vehicle Yaw Sensor



Learn).



4. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the B119 Multi-axis Acceleration Sensor.



5. Ignition OFF and all vehicle systems OFF. It may take up to 2 minutes for all vehicle systems to power down. Test for less than 10 ohm



between the ground circuit terminal 6 and ground.



瀚慖f greater than the specified value, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance.



6. Ignition ON, test for greater than 10 V between the 12 V reference circuit terminal 5 and ground.



瀚慖f less than the specified value, test the 12 V reference circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal,



replace the K17 Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM).



7. If all circuits test normal, replace the B119 Multi-axis Acceleration Sensor and verify the DTC does not reset.



瀚慖f the DTC resets, replace the K17 Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM).

Circuit/System Testing



B2425 0B, B2425 0D, or B2425 0E



1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the X4 harness connector at the K40 seat memory control module.



2. Ignition ON, verify that a test lamp illuminates between the B+ circuit terminal 5 and ground.



瀚慖f the test lamp does not illuminate, test the B+ circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance.



3. Ignition OFF, connect the X4 harness connector at the K40 seat memory control module and disconnect the harness connector at the E14A



seat back heating element.



Note: Element resistance must be measured twice to ensure that all failure conditions are simulated. First with the seat unoccupied, then with



the seat occupied.



4. Test for 0.5 - 5 Ohms between terminal A and terminal B.



瀚慖f not within the specified range, replace the E14A seat back heating element.



5. Connect the harness connector at the E14A seat back heating element and disconnect the X3 harness connector at the K40 seat memory



control module.



Note: Element resistance must be measured twice to ensure that all failure conditions are simulated. First with the seat unoccupied, then with



the seat occupied.



6. Test for 1 - 7 Ohms between control circuit terminal 11 and control circuit terminal 6.



瀚慖f less than the specified range, test for a short between the control circuits. If the circuits test normal, replace the E14B seat cushion



heating element.



瀚慖f greater than the specified range, test the control circuits for an open/high resistance. If the circuits test normal, replace the E14B seat



cushion heating element.



7. If all circuits test normal, replace the K40 seat memory control module.



B2430 0B, B2430 0D, or B2430 0E



1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the X4 harness connector at the K40 seat memory control module.



2. Ignition ON, verify that a test lamp illuminates between the B+ circuit terminal 5 and ground.



瀚慖f the test lamp does not illuminate, test the B+ circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance.



3. Ignition OFF, connect the X4 harness connector at the K40 seat memory control module and disconnect the harness connector at the E14C



seat back heating element.



Note: Element resistance must be measured twice to ensure that all failure conditions are simulated. First with the seat unoccupied, then with



the seat occupied.



4. Test for 0.5 - 5 Ohms between terminal A and terminal B.



瀚慖f not within the specified range, replace the E14C seat back heating element.
